the Generator

In November, George found an 18kw Onan generator in Palmer, MA that he got to power the whole house.
The first challenge was to get it here.  Since we also had to pick up a Viking stove in Chestnut Hill and George would be working alone, first he built a couple of pallets with casters on them.  Here's Jordan and Taylor, QA'ing the platforms in the family room before we used them.
We needed a lift-gate truck.  The closest 15' we could find was in Salem, NH. One rainy evening, George rented it and drove down to Chestnut Hill to get the stove... but that didn't happen.  It was dark and raining like hell, the stove was blocked in by some other trucks and wasn't ready to transport, etc..
... so George drove home.  He left the house the next morning at 5 and drove 80 miles out to Palmer and got the generator; then drove back to Chestnut Hill to get the stove.  Here they are, sitting in the driveway.. (finally)
We managed to muscle this puppy onto the liftgate and into the garage without tipping it over (good thing- we're guessing it weighs 700-800 lbs...!)
Beauty, eh!  4 cylinder Onan generator, natural gas fired (so no need for onsite storage of diesel, gasoline or whatever...)  Only 870 hours on it.
Complete instrumentation..!
Now we're pended on documentation and a natural gas hookup- then we'll be good to go!
