Everyone here uses the rails as their main means of transportation, either via train or subway. HERE's Milano Centrale- it makes South Station in Boston look like the farm league. It has 24 tracks and 3 HUGE domes. This was one of the smaller domes...! |
| A shot of the main dome in Milano Centrale- just massive! |
| Lots of advertisement goes on at the train station. Nintendo had people lineed up for a chance to try the WII...! |
| Interior of an IC (inter city?) train- this taken going from Florence to Siena (and this is 2nd class!) |
|
Milan had a terrific subway system (including Red, Yellow, Green and Blue lines...!) so if you can get around Boston, you can get around Milan. HERE's Kathy down in the Metro in Milan. |

Parking spaces here are absolutely at a premium, so all the cars are very small. HERE's the street outside our hotel- note there is no wasted space. |

George marveled at the "smartcars" and fell in love with them. HERE's one now- they're only 7-1/2' long! |
| A closer view- aren't they cute?! |

Our rail- an Opel Corso. After the agrotourismo, it definitely needed a bath. And to think it only had 12km on it when we got it... oh, well... |
