Pianella is about 10km NE of Siena. We had rented a car and this was our base for exploring the hill towns of Tuscany. Typical countryside scene..! |

We spent 3 nights at this agrotourismo - Fattatoria Aggrianna- and it was terrific! |

After a terrific day in Cortona, we walked around the vineyard a bit. The sun was setting and the views were spectacular! |

We drove over to San Sono for dinner and it was excellent! Bruschetta for 3eu and DOCG Chianti for 12eu! |  |
| The next day we drove to Montalcino, then back for a dip in the pool, then into Siena for dinner. |  |

The next day was our last in Siena- we checked out of the agrotourismo, drove to San Gimignano, dropped the car in La Spezia, then caught the train to Riomaggiore in the Cinque Terra. |
