New Hot Tub

HERE's the one we picked out at Century Spas in San Jose.
If it looks familar, that's because it's identical to the unit we had in Los Altos.
We got to choose how many jets we wanted and where they went.
[Only in California- ed.]

Here's Ken modeling our new tub.

the hole The biggest job was digging a hole to plant this puppy.
Jack and George did this in one day...while Jenn and MJ were off on a road trip. (what great timing on Jenn and MJ's part!)
After leveling the bottom with sand (yup, we reused the sand from the old one), we were ready to drop the tub in.
Jack, Ken and Dave McMurtry skipped church and came over to help one Sunday morning.
Level problem? What level problem?!

the refinery TWO of the pumps from the original hot tub/pool were still serviceable- everything else was brand new.
After George doubled the size of the cement pad, Keith (our pool guy) rebuilt the whole thing for us- new filters, heater, pumps, etc...
Here's "the refinery" in all its glory.
george cutting pvc George tried to help...but well, ran into some problems.
(actually, he was cutting one of the pipes to the solar collector on the roof and it was full of water- lotsa water! it probably sprayed for 5 minutes before it emptied the lines...)
Finally, a functional hot tub! After it got all hooked up and filled, our new gas heater got it up to temperature in just 1 hour! Excellent!
So, here's George basking in the new hot tub!
