Replacing the Oven

Then there was the oven fiasco... Several houses ago, MJ and George fell in love with the Bosch double oven. When they moved back here, George found one on CraigsList for $450 and snapped it up. They had it at the rental house and here on Shubert Drive. The 40 year old thermador (left) was failing, so time for the new one! |

First you disconnect the old one and yank it out of the wall... |

Then (since the new oven is 3" wider than the old), you get to remove the cabinet it lived in for 40 years. The cabinet gets dragged to the shop and put on the box stretcher machine so the Rough Opening works for the new oven... |

Of course, the new cabinet is too big for the old spot (28 lbs in a 25 lb sack), so all that cabinetry and counter top has to be moved north 3 inches |
