Beaches

The Bay Area has some terrific beaches and, until this year, we had never been to any of them.
One of the playgroups goes on a regular basis and we decided to join in and check it out!
Davenport Landing, March 2005
Our first outing of the year. 80 degrees outside (water was 50-odd).
Everyone wants to go in until...
... their feet get wet!
Other cool thing about this beach is that, in the spring, there's a small, fresh water river running down thru the middle of the beach, and the kids love playing in it...

It took almost 2 months to get another beautiful day. Here we are, back at Davenport.
Note that the river has dwindled substantially...
The crew.
Jordan, Taylor and Theo are playing on the right.

It does get windy there... Here it is one week later, blowing like hell.
It was a warm breeze (80+), but we decided to move to a different beach instead.

Natural Bridges, July 15, 2005
Here's Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz.
It has this cool arch out in the water and it's somewhat sheltered from the wind.
The day we went was overcast and somewhat cool; and the tide was coming in.
(and the water was cold- very few hard souls venturing out into the water)
Two cute girls, watching the tide come in.
We watched the high tide get closer and closer and finally left before it got us.
Out friends Nini and Minna weren't so lucky- 3 minutes later, they got soaked!
A good time was had by all- here's 2 tuckered out girls at the end of the 35 minute ride home ;-)
