Year in Review

Wow! Another year is in the record books and what a year it's been! The girls are growing in all directions, George is still in charge of maintenance, supplies and chauffeuring; and MJ's still doing cool stuff at eBay.
In January, MJ attended a conference at Pebble Beach (which included a round of golf). Due to a cancellation, George got to play too! We had a caddy for the first time ever and it was an excellent day!
In February, Caky and Joepa flew out for the girls' 6th birthday party. Their entire Kindergarten class showed up, so we had almost 50 people here. We hired a magician, who did a great job entertaining everyone.
April was busy-
  • MJ's grandmother Margaret stopped by to celebrate Easter with us.
  • the weather was so good we had our first outings of the year to a Santa Cruz beach and to Bonfante Gardens Amusement Park.
  • our friends Patsi and Kevin came to visit for a few days- always great to see them!
  • and we played the Stanford Golf Course.
  • In May-
  • the girls did their annual "Kids to Work" day @ ebay and had a great time.
  • sadly, we had to head back East for MJ's Aunt Berry's Memorial Service.
  • June/July were crazy-
  • MJ attended the eBay-Live conference in Boston, while...
  • Caky flew out to help George with the girls' dance recital; then
  • MJ flew a security conference in Milan, Italy while...
  • George and girls flew east and started camp, then
  • George flew to Milan where George and MJ toured Northern Italy for for 10 days!
  • The girls spent 5 weeks at camp and they were Apes this year! They both passed Red Cross Level 3 swimming and started sailing. Taylor even got to capsize a boat (with her instructor who happened to be her cousin Kanchan)!
In August, MJ joined the Executive MBA program at Santa Clara University. This is an accelerated program- they cram a full MBA program into 15 months! It's pretty intense and MJ is very busy- she's up until midnight most nights studying. She'll be done around Thanksgiving 2008 and will rejoin the family then.
In September, the girls started first grade at Saratoga Elementary in Saratoga, and they love it! Their day runs from 8:30 - 2:30; then 4 days a week they attend the school-sponsored "Clubhouse" until 4:30. After George picks them up, we come home and do about an hour of homework a day...
In October, the girls joined "Indian Princesses". This is a father-daughter group sponsored by the YMCA and we have a monthly outing, including stuff like camping out, square dancing and even a formal dance. All the girls in Jordan and Taylors' class participate and they all have a great time!
And Halloween happened- Jordan was Daphne and Taylor was a Candy Corn Princess. Our goal was to go to every Eichler home in Saratoga (all 35 of them...) and we did it!
We celebrated Thanksgiving at home this year, with George cooking for almost 20 people. Highlights of the day were (1) swimming in the pool; and (2) playing Guitar Hero 3 on the WII vs. Jordan (the pro!)
December was filled with Christmas prep, culminating with Caky and Joepa joining us for Xmas and New Years.
Scooby is still with us. He's 3 years old and still extremely mellow (and still loves going to the dog park).
We hope your 2007 was as action-packed and fun as ours was-
Let's hope 2008 is a terrific year for all of us!
    Happy New Year!
