Jones Gulch Campout

Jones Gulch is a piece of Y property that was formerly a logging camp. It's located way up in the hills between here and the coast. Even though all the food and shelter was provided, we still ended up bringing a bunch of gear...
Our cabin was broken into 3 rooms and slept 30 people (12 in our room alone). Since we got there Friday night, we got to pick which bunks we wanted, and the girls both drew top bunks...
... which they thought was just dandy!
Even though it was plenty foggy on the drive up Friday night, Saturday greeted us with crystal clear blue skies.
And good thing- we had a full day of activities ahead of us.
HERE is the zip-line. The girls walk out to the far end and clip on and zip down towards us.
Jordan and Taylor were a bit intimidated so didn't try it this year...
...but their buddy (and classmate) Maddie did- she loved it!
Everyone went out for archery later on.
They also had a small pond and plenty of canoes for everyone so we all got to row.
HERE's Taylor and dad out paddling around.
And, all the way there thru the wood, we found Banana Slugs!
We had never seen these things before and they were pretty gross (and they grow bigger than your finger!)
We ate all of our meals in this dining hall.
And this is where the "Pumpkin Contest" was judged.
Throughout the weekend, there was plenty of time for just hanging out with friends.
HERE's Serena, Autumn and Jordan just hanging out.
After the big campfire on top of the hill Saturday night, everyone was ready to go home (and shower) by Sunday.
HERE's most of our circle at the closing ceremony on Sunday.
